Novice Sweater

Are you ready to knit your first sweater? We can help! Join this class to make PetiteKnit?s easy and flattering Novice Sweater. It knits up fast on large needles, and typically is made holding two yarns together - a lace mohair, which provides a lovely halo; and a smooth DK or worsted yarn. The sweater is knit seamlessly in the round, from the top down, resulting in minimal finishing and very few ends to work in. This is not a learn-to-knit class, but if you have completed some simple projects and know how to cast on, bind off, increase and decrease, you can make this top-down, circular yoke sweater. The class will provide help with every step along the way, including choosing your yarn, determining your pattern size, creating a gauge swatch to ensure your sweater will fit, following the pattern instructions, and answering all your questions. Once you complete this sweater, you will have the skills and confidence to conquer the wide world of sweater knitting! Requirements: Purchase pattern and bring it to the first class, along with a stitch marker and a 16-inch size 10 circular needle. (If you have sizes 8 and 9 in 16-inch circulars, bring them, too.) During the first class we will help you choose yarn, determine your pattern size, and knit a gauge swatch. If you prefer to purchase yarn ahead of time, Studio staff can help in your selection.

Take It On Tuesday

It is time to get out those trouble-some projects at the bottom of your bag and get them finished! Wherever you were stuck, there will be an experienced knitter on hand who can help you take it on.
