Matthew’s Birthday Sale

Cindy, Matthew, event No Comments »

If you’ve shopped with us for a while you know that Matthew is (was) our shop baby.  Some shops have a shop cat – we had a shop baby.  It was a great experience for him and all of us.  He was raised by a community of loving and caring women who pitched in to do what needed to be done (even sometimes changing the dirty diaper).  He had a crib in the office and his very own playroom.  Everyone participated in providing care for him.  Now, it didn’t dawn on me to ask staff members if they wanted to help or if they could help.  They just did.

One could assume that they did it because they had to.  But, I don’t think that’s the case.  I think that the women I get to work with are women of great depth of character.  They are women of many talents and abilities.  They are women who have many loves and interests beyond these walls.  They are women of faith.  They are women of love.  They are all great women.

Because of the time they each shared with Matthew, he is a young man of all that is good in each of them.  It is a joy to watch him grow and know that he is loved deeply by so many.

In honor of Matthew and the Great Women in his life we have a sale.

New Nichole Sock Yarn

Cindy, Matthew, new yarn No Comments »

We just received this gorgeous sock yarn from Schaefer Yarn Co.  It is a beautiful merino with a smidge of nylon.  The colors are absolutely wonderful.  We have some nice brights and some nice neutrals, too.  Each skein has almost 410 yards on it so it’ll do a pair for you.

Nichole will also make beautiful lace scarves and wraps.  Maybe you could try the Kernel scarf from Knitty.com

We also had the pleasure of having Matthew join us after school today.  It wouldn’t be a trip to The Studio without going to the cupcake shop just a few doors down – Cupcake a la mode.  Here’s a picture of Matthew after he ate half of his Peanut Butter Kiss Cupcake.  I think he likes it.
